🎶 It’s Recorder Time! Soprano Recorder Purchase Information

🎶 Fourth Grade Soprano Recorder Information

Fourth graders will begin learning the soprano recorder in November! The recorder is a fun way to develop music-reading and performance skills while also preparing students for future woodwind instruments.

Recorder Cost: $5
Colors: Blue, Green, Red, or Purple

Families may purchase one recorder for school or two recorders—one for school and one for home practice. If you prefer not to purchase a recorder, the school will provide one for your student to use during music class.

🎵 Purchasing a Recorder

Money is due October 30. Recorders will be distributed within 1–2 weeks after payment.

Online payment: Payment can be submitted through ParentSquare. In the comment section, list your student's name and homeroom teacher. Please note that ParentSquare payments include an additional 6.5% processing fee.

Cash/check purchases may be made through the front office.

If purchasing a recorder elsewhere, please choose a quality student recorder rather than a toy recorder (such as those commonly found at dollar stores), as toy recorders may not play in tune. (Quality brands include but are not limited to: Yamaha YRS-23, Aulos 303b/205a, Angel Halo P6000.)

🎨 Optional Recorder Cases

Recorder cases are $2.50 and are available in a variety of fun designs.
Cases can be purchased:

• Through ParentSquare online
• In person with cash through the school store

Please do not send recorder case payments to the front office.
Once we begin our recorder unit, students are encouraged to practice 5–10 minutes each day. Students who have their own recorder are responsible for bringing it to every music class.
