A Month of Gratitude & Giving🦃

November is here! 🍂 As we settle into the cooler weather and the holiday season approaches, we’re looking forward to another great month at MGSD School Nutrition.
November is a time for gratitude, giving back, and enjoying the comforting flavors of the season. From honoring our veterans and recognizing the amazing people behind our school meals to sharing special menu favorites and spreading holiday cheer, there’s plenty happening this month.
So get ready for some seasonal favorites, a little holiday spirit, and lots to be thankful for. Let's make November a month to remember with MGSD School Nutrition! 🦃🍁

November Menu Highlights

We've got some delicious meals coming up this month!
November 10 – Breakfast for Lunch!
Who doesn't love breakfast? Join us for a fun lunchtime favorite, complete with peach cobbler for a sweet finish!

🦃 November 17 – Annual Holiday Meal
The holiday season is almost here, and we're celebrating with one of our favorite traditions: our annual Holiday Meal! Join us for a delicious, comforting meal filled with some seasonal favorites.
On the Menu:
  • Turkey with Gravy
  • Cornbread Stuffing
  • Green Beans
  • Cream Potatoes
  • Peaches
  • Roll
  • Pumpkin Cookie 🍪 -will be available with every meal purchased on November 17!

📌 Special Schedule Note: Due to testing, East Mooresville Intermediate and Mooresville Intermediate will celebrate with their Holiday Meal on November 19 instead of November 17. We hope everyone enjoys!

Did You Know? 
November is National Georgia Pecan Month! Pecans are a source of healthy fats, fiber, and several important nutrients.

Toys for Tots

It's the season of giving! Our School Nutrition Department is excited to participate in the annual Toys for Tots drive.
Help us spread a little extra joy this holiday season by donating a new, unwrapped toy. Every donation helps make the holidays a little brighter for a child in our community.
Donation Details:
  • Dates: October 19 – December 18
  • Drop-off Location: School Nutrition Office, W. McLelland Avenue, Mooresville
  • Drop-off Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Honoring Our Veterans – November 11

Veterans Day is a time to recognize and thank the brave men and women who have served our country. We are grateful for their sacrifices and dedication to protecting our freedoms.
Food has a special way of bringing people together, building connections, and creating a sense of community. Much like our School Nutrition teams work every day to nourish and care for students, we recognize the importance of serving others and making a difference.
To all the veterans in our school community and their families, thank you for your service!

🌟 Employee of the Month: Cassidy Riddle
This month, we are excited to recognize Cassidy Riddle, Assistant Manager at South Elementary, as our Employee of the Month!
Cassidy is known for her positive attitude, friendly personality, and willingness to make the workday a little brighter for those around her. She is always pleasant to work with and brings a welcoming energy to her team.
Outside of the kitchen, Cassidy also enjoys baking, and some of us have had the pleasure of trying her homemade treats! Needless to say, they never disappoint!

💳 Meal Prices for the 2026–2027 School Year & K12 Payment Center Updates

School meals are available daily for students at the following prices:
Breakfast:
K–12 Students: $1.25
Lunch:
  • K–5 Students: $2.50
  • 6–12 Students: $2.75
💲 Stay Ahead with Lunch Payments!
Help keep your student's meal account funded by adding money through K12 Payment Center.
  • Review your student's account information.
  • Add funds as needed.
  • Set up account notifications to help keep track of your student's balance.
Can't see your student's balance? Don't worry! If your student has not made a meal transaction yet, their account may appear inactive or may not display a balance in K12 Payment Center. Once a transaction occurs, the account should become active and the balance will be reflected.
